How to Use a Timecard Calculator
Enter Your Start and End Times
For each day of the week, enter when you clocked in and when you clocked out. The calculator uses your device's native time picker, so you can tap or type times quickly. Leave any day blank if you didn't work.
Add Break Time
Enter your unpaid break time in minutes for each day. Most workers take a 30-minute lunch break, but you can enter any amount. The calculator subtracts break time from your total hours automatically.
Overnight and Split Shifts
If your shift crosses midnight — say you clock in at 10 PM and clock out at 6 AM — the calculator handles it correctly. It recognizes that the end time is earlier than the start time and calculates the hours across midnight.
Optional Hourly Rate
Enter your hourly rate to see your gross pay for the week. This is a simple multiplication of your total hours by your rate — no overtime or tax calculations are applied. For overtime breakdowns, use our overtime calculator.
Copy, Clear, and Print
If you work the same schedule most days, enter Monday's times and hit "Copy Mon to empty days" to fill in the rest of the week. "Clear all" resets every field. "Print" gives you a clean printout of your timecard — handy for submitting hours to your employer.
